Welcome to Blueberry Software's Filtrix information page for FrameMaker MIF format conversions.

Version 4.2 offers filtering of files to and from FrameMaker MIF through version 7.x. Two features distinguish Filtrix from other filters:

1. We support bidirectional filtering. We are as interested in assisting you in exporting your FrameMaker files to such formats as Word 97 through 2003, WordPerfect 5/6/7/8, and Interleaf 4/5/6/7 as we are in helping you import them. Filtrix exports MIF documents to many formats, and includes the ability to extract graphics into WMF, WPG, TIFF, and BMP graphics formats.

A new feature allows you to specify whether the graphics you convert are linked to or embedded in the FrameMaker files you produce.

2. We think there are drawbacks in requiring users to save and load intermediate formats such as RTF. For this reason, Filtrix translates directly among FrameMaker MIF, Word, WordPerfect, and Interleaf IAF native formats. Not only is this a convenience to users, but it has decided benefits in terms of fidelity of translation.
